From first tools to Auto Surgeons

Student by day. Mechanic by evening.
While studying Automotive Engineering at ITI Chandigarh, evenings were spent in the workshop. Every lesson learned in class was put into workshop practice the very same day
Growing through experience
Apprenticeships with Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi, followed by a Diploma in Automotive Engineering, expanded both technical skills and confidence. Weekends were spent in the workshop, not at home
Advanced technology
Training at the Volkswagen Training Centre introduced modern diagnostics, manufacturer standards and precision workmanship before joining a Volkswagen dealership.
A second chance
After once being turned away, Taran applied again for Mercedes-Benz. Out of more than 100 applicants, he earned the role — proof that persistence speaks louder than setbacks.
New Zealand — building again
A new country and a fresh start in Papatoetoe, South Auckland. Working full-time in an automotive workshop in Blockhouse Bay laid the foundation for everything that followed in New Zealand -Tauranga, Hamilton and Rotorua.
Experience across New Zealand
From bodyshops and AA Roadside Assistance to heavy diesel workshops, every role sharpened different skills and broadened experience with all kinds of vehicles.
Integrity over shortcuts
When faced with opportunities to take shortcuts, integrity came first. Skills can always improve, but a good reputation is earned over a lifetime.
Dealership precision
Working with Ford and Mazda in Tauranga refined diagnostic skills, efficiency and manufacturer-level repair standards while continuing to grow every day.
Always learning
Registered under New Zealand's apprenticeship programme and continuing to train in hybrid and EV technology. Learning never stops.
The dream takes shape
Auto Surgeons was officially registered in October 2022. While working full-time at another workshop, Taran began serving customers after hours from home and as a mobile mechanic—building the business one customer at a time.
